Well, it's been a long and active week... so active that I haven't had time to sit down at the computer to record any of it!
This past weekend, M and K and I went out to the coast for a few days. On our getaway weekend we helped to spiff up K's beach house with some painting and closet cleaning, as well as a nice walk on the beach. The weather was gorgeous, and the company was divine. We came home rested, worked out and ready for a nap!
Then Monday was all about helping M move into her new apartment, so Mr. Kawaii and I spent the morning running up and down a flight of stairs with our arms full of boxes and the afternoon unloading, unpacking, cleaning and lining the shelves of M's new place. It is a great little apartment, and once we helped to get her unpacked it felt like more of a home than her last place. So happy to see her growing her independence with this move!
Yesterday we were back in the office, trying to get some work done between naps... and today... well, I am going to do my best to get a walk in but I certainly am not in a position to make any promises!

Wii Played
Mr. Kawaii and I had an unsuccessful round of house hunting this afternoon, and when we came home we had to decide if we were going to hang our heads in mopey despair or find some other way to blow off some steam. In a moment of brilliant healthy and proactive thought, we decided to turn on the Wii and play some Wii Sports games to shake the blues out of our systems.
A few rounds of tennis, 9 holes of golf and a game of bowling later, we both felt much better about the world in general. It is amazing how a little jumping, waving and twitching around the living room makes the world seem a little brighter.

Blogging On The Go!
Well, I made an attempt at updating the blog from my cell phone while out and about this afternoon and for some reason it would let me enter the title, but nothing else. Now that I'm back at my desk I figure I'll fill out the rest!
Today proved that the ongoing cardio and strength training exercises really have been working. I helped M move into a 2nd story apartment this morning and was able to complete the move without getting winded! All told, I made 8 trips up and down the stairs carrying boxes and bags weighing about 30 pounds a piece (guesstimate - they each were a little lighter than Pooch's 40 pound bag of dog food). At the end, while I had worked up a sweat and my legs and buns were starting to get a little wobbly, I was still able to walk and talk without struggling. It feels great to be able to complete such a physical task!
In other news... today I had to tighten my belt an extra notch to keep my pants from hanging down around my ankles. SO AWESOME!
With that - I'm taking the rest of the night off to spend with Mr. Kawaii. Stay fit, everybody!

Working So Hard, I Almost Forgot!
Typically, I try to complete this blog while the sweat is still dripping and the stink still surrounds me. No, I don't have a bad-smell fetish. I just know that if I don't get the blog done right away, I'll get side-tracked by other projects and forget to do it! Today is a case-in point; M, K and I all wrapped up our walk hours ago and I didn't remember until I was pajama-clad that I didn't get a chance to blog about it! For shame.
This evening we all put off the walk until the sun sank low in the sky to avoid the heat and humidity that popped back up this afternoon. The result was a perfect evening for a stroll, and we took advantage with 2 miles of walking and talking. Solving the world's problems one step at a time, we managed to get our workouts done with enough energy left over for me to come home and get so involved in my work (I've been working on a handful of new articles in addition to doing graphic design in my "spare time") that I forgot to finish the written portion of the calorie burn.
Tomorrow may be more of the same, Mr. Kawaii and I are headed to help move some furniture and hopefully do some substantial lifting for a great workout without pains, strains or pulls!
